Production Engineering Department
An extensive support system manned day and night by a highly skilled workforce with many years of experience in all types of engineering is readily at hand to help with any problems which may occur.
The engineers in the Production Engineering Department receive customer orders and documentation from which they decide upon the most cost effective method of manufacture for the part. They then go on to prepare routing, part programs and in-house drawings to guide charge hands and operators for the smooth operation from raw material to quality component.
The CNC Machines are supported by two E.C.S Concerto CAM and Edgecam Programming stations which are manned day and night.
All the CNC Machines are networked directly to the programming stations allowing greater control and handling of programmes.
The production engineering department has a direct link to the Matrix Computerised Tool Management system which controls the tool store and purchasing of consumable tooling.
Stores and Tool Room
The tool room is a vital entity to the smooth running of the machine shop. Tooling lists are received from the Production Engineering Department and tool kits assembled to suit jobs prior to loading them to machines saving valuable down time. Tool lengths and data are measured on a Zoller Pre-setter which is linked to the tool management system.
If the required tooling is not available, our team of skilled toolmakers will create tooling to produce the desired feature. In house bungs and fixtures and machining aids are all manufactured in the tool room.
Tool Room Machinery
Common used inserts and tooling are stored in a Matrix vending machine. The vending machine automatically controls stock levels and generates orders when required.
Saw and Stock Material
A roller fed band saw capable of cutting bars up to 25" in diameter.
Belmar carries a stock of the more common materials up to 19 3/4" in diameter.
Belmars maintenance department is on site 24 hours a day to carry out on the spot repairs, planned maintenance and major breakdowns.
